Prevention Steps & Social Distancing
Before providing or receiving NDIS in-person or at-home support services during this COVID-19, Participants and Support Workers must consider…
1. Are you self-isolating, or is someone in your household self-isolating?
* ie. due to flu symptoms, respiratory symptoms (ie. difficulty breathing)
2. Do you, or someone you had contact with, have a diagnosed case?
3. Have you returned from overseas travel or are you required to self-isolate?
4. Have you been in contact with someone who has returned from overseas?
5. Have you not received your first or full COVID-19 Vaccinations?
You need to make each other aware if answering Yes to any of the above questions. If answering yes to any above, in-person support must be avoided.
Depending on your situation, “Virtual Support” and “Indirect Support” may provide suitable alternatives for now. For further info… please get in touch.
COVID-19 Infection Control Training
All Disability Support Workers should complete this online training.
Once completed you can update your profile on Kynd to reflect this.
We also encourage NDIS Participants and families to complete this.
COVID-19 FAQs for Support Workers
I’m not vaccinated. Can I provide support?
If you choose not to be vaccinated for COVID-19, be aware that Government requirements may prohibit you from providing NDIS support services.
Where can I access further information?
We recommend reading the Government websites and using their advice helplines. For any Kynd related questions, as always, please do get in touch.
COVID-19 FAQs for NDIS Participants
Can I search for vaccinated workers?
Yes! You can add filters to your search, add a requirement to job posts, or search ‘vaccination’ in our global text search. This lets you only see Support Workers who declare that they have had all their COVID-19 vaccinations.
Can I ask for proof of vaccination?
Yes. Similar to asking for documents or evidence of other needs, experience or qualifications, you are welcome to request proof of COVID-19 vaccination from a Support Worker before starting or continuing your NDIS services with them.
A Final Note…
We know it’s been a tough time for everyone. Isolations, lockdowns, restrictions and border closures have greatly impacted people and families and taken a toll on peoples lives, health, financial and social wellbeing. We are thinking of you.
