Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re thinking about it... maybe we’ve already answered it below!

How does Kynd assist NDIS Participants?

Kynd is an online platform that puts NDIS Participants in control of their NDIS support.

NDIS Participants can browse, compare and choose verified independent Support Workers Providers.

They can search for someone that meets their specific needs, schedules and requirements.

Post jobs, send secure messages, negotiate rates, and book their NDIS support directly.

There is no fee for NDIS Participants. It’s free to join, search and book support.

That’s pretty cool, how do NDIS Participants sign up?

Signing up is free, easy and only takes minutes.

To get started, NDIS Participants create a 'Member' account via Kynd's website or they can install Kynd's app (on the iOS AppStore or Google Play).

If they need help signing up or have questions... they can hit up our Help Centre or Contact Us.

How does a platform help ensure safe support and work?

Kynd is the best of both worlds - flexibility and choice, with all the benefits of our safety system. You'll gain transparent info, simple pricing, and third-party oversight protection.

Learn about Safer Support and see our platform safeguards.

It's the safer way for NDIS Participants to engage with independent Support Workers.

With messages and bookings inside the Kynd platform, you will maximise your safety.

You can also learn more about NDIS Compliance by visiting the Kynd Help Centre

Tell me more about independent Support Workers using Kynd?

Support Workers using Kynd are independent, self-employed 'Service Providers'.

When signing up, Support Workers all pass multiple verifications. Find out more >

Everyone joining has agreed to the NDIS Code of Conduct and Kynd's Terms of Use.

Participants and Support Workers can mutually agree rates, services and schedules.

Your Support Worker is your NDIS Provider and Kynd provides a platform service.

Can my NDIS Clients bring my own (BYO) Support Workers?

Yes! Kynd offers a great way to simplify NDIS admin hassles.

Invited Support Workers will get all normal Kynd inclusions PLUS the added bonus of keeping 93% of their agreed rates at the reduced BYO 7% service fee.

To get started, ask your NDIS Clients to create an account and follow the prompts to invite their Support Workers to join them on Kynd.

As soon as we’ve verified both their profiles, they can set up bookings together, and the invited Support Workers will get the reduced BYO 7% platform fee.

How do invoices and payments work on Kynd?

Kynd handles invoicing, collections, and payments for Independent Support Workers.

That's part of our service to them. It helps ensure their services are paid efficiently.

NDIS Participants pre-approve bookings on the Kynd platform before an invoice is sent either to the Plan Manager or Member (if Self-Managed) for payment.

Payments are processed fortnightly and include approved bookings up to cutoff times.

How does Kynd help manage incidents?

Support Workers using Kynd are independent, self-employed 'Service Providers'. This means that under the NDIS Code of Conduct, they're required to have their own incident management procedures and submit any 'reportable incidents' to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

Kynd provides an Incident Report Form on our website to help independent Support Workers manage their own incidents.

Our Help Centre also shares resources related to incident management and prevention for Support Workers using Kynd.
