7 News: App for Disability Support

Kynd has launched a new app for disability support.

Paul and Susan Johnstone know how difficult it can be to leave your child in someone else’s hands. Their son Matthew has down syndrome. He’s also deaf, so finding someone they trust is vital.

“It’s really important that to know that we feel comfortable, leaving someone in our home, with our son, when we go off to work each day”, said Susan.

The Kynd App has taken away many of those fears, allowing them to request exactly who will be looking after Matthew. Kynd works by allowing users to find a perfect match based on personality, location, budgets and even interests.

"That in itself is massive, because if you go through other organisations they'll just say we're sending somebody out and this is who it is".

“This app for disability support is available for all types of services. Basic support, personal care and more. It is really about whatever the Kynd Member wants and chooses”, said Michael Metcalfe, the Founder of Kynd.

Kynd has initially launched on the Gold Coast in Queensland and Tweed Shire, in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, with more locations coming online soon. Watch the segment on Kynd’s new app for disability support on the Channel 7’s Gold Coast News Facebook Page.

If you’re looking to find NDIS support, Kynd’s platform, mobile app and phone support service are available. Get access to ‘BestMatch’, our free personalised matching solution with hands-on help from Kynd. This is more than an app for disability support – our team strives to find you the right support.

To download and install your Kynd app, visit the AppStore or Google Play.
